Arisu "Yarigata" Ichinokuro
About
The main heroine of Mushi-Uta Bug, she is the ojousama from Ichinokuro corporation, and the sole friend of Hanashiro Mari. After Mari had passed away, she inherited Mari's bug—a silver Morpho butterfly. Daisuke is sent by SEPB to monitor her for this unusual phenomenon.
She uses an iron stick as her weapon. When threat is approaching the butterfly would fuse with the stick and gives her devastating power. However, the power she can control is much weaker than that of Mari's.
She believes that people possessed by the bugs are no different than ordinary human so should be treat equally, and usually comes in conflict with Daisuke when dealing with a possessed opponent.
It turned out that Mari did not want to die and moved her personalty to her bug. At times Mari may use Arisu as the host to show her own personalty and skills, while Arisu would completely lost her conscious at the same time. Right before "meteor night", Mari's conscious became so strong that Arisu is almost replaced, but she was welling to let Mari take over her body. Mari changed her mind at last moment and wanted Arisu to live, gave up the life of herself.
At the last battle of "meteor night" in Bug Vol.8, Arisu revealed her dream to be "to save all Mushitsuki" to Oogui and finally becomes a Mushitsuki herself, she inherent the Morpho butterfly and can uses its full power. At the end of the battle, she sacrificed herself to seal the "Undead Mushitsuki" - Ichiku Kimitaka, and leaves a slim hope for Daisuke and others to defeat Oogui and save all Mushitsuki in the future. She is constantly referred as "Sleeping Beauty" in the main stories of the novel.
She is awaken by Harukiyo in the Vol.12 of the main story, but seem to lost her reasons and starts an indiscriminate attack. Harukiyo, at the cost of almost turning his bug into mature state, was finally able to knock Arisu back to her unconscious state and taking her out to really wake her up.
During the two years of sleep, Arisu had witnessed Mushitsuki's losing battle through Morpho Butterfly's eyes. In fear of losing all the hopes and can't taking the truth when wake up, Arisu escaped to the deep level of consciousness and mixed up with Mari's consciousness, used it as a weapon to defend her. Later, she was finally waken up by Daisuke's consciousness. Although mind not fully recovered and was unable to speak or interact with Daisuke, she was able to fight and helped to defeat C and Oogui.
She was last mentioned being slowly recovered from mind loss.
She is voiced by Nana Mizuki in the Drama CD adaptation.
