Kei Shidou

About

Kei is Miki's best friend and classmate. The two were hanging out together at the mall when the outbreak happened, and sought shelter in a storage room. However, after awhile Kei becomes depressed and impatient with sitting around waiting for help; she leaves their improvised shelter on her own and gives Miki, who decided to stay behind, her portable CD player. After she is rescued by the School Living Club, Miki often wonders what became of her friend.

In the manga:

Miki spots the infected Kei entering the school grounds when the girls are leaving in Megumi's car.

In Otayori:

It is revealed that Kei managed to reach Megurigaoka train station after leaving the mall, and broadcast a message in an attempt to reach others for help for herself (stating that a new leg injury prevented her from walking much) and Miki. Her transmission was picked up and recorded by Shiiko Aosoi from the Circle at Saint Isidore University. A portable CD player is also found at the train station, containing Kei's favorite song.
