Edel is Merleawe's older brother. He's somewhat scatterbrained and overprotective, but he is extremely kind hearted. He's very dedicated to the family vineyard, and was often forced to travel because of that, causing Mel to occasionally feel left out. Despite that, Edel cares for Mel a great deal. At one point, he decides to visit Mel, causing a few problems for Mel, as she cannot tell him she's impersonating the Master Wizard.
