About

Hikaruko is a gloomy 14-year-old. She's in love with her classmate Haruki, who she calls by the nickname Haru.

Since she was little, Hikaruko wanted to give Haru a football-shaped stuffed toy to wish him luck, but since she was always really shy, Hikaruko never had the chance to do so.

In the first volume, Hikaruko dies and is scouted by a spirit named Zenji. After that, she also becomes a spirit, their work being scaring people. Hikaruko was really opposed to it, but since she didn't want her soul to disappear, she accepted the job.


During the second volume, Hikaruko visits Haru in the intermediate space after he got into an accident and was close to dying. Hikaruko apologizes for always avoiding him and tells Haru that she loves him. But she wanted Haru to be with everyone else, so she pushed him lightly on the back and he regained consciousness.

Hikaruko gets back to the real world but starts to disappear because Haru forgot her. She mentions to Zenji that she doesn't care if she disappears after she told Haru her feelings. Zenji says that Hikaruko needs to re-spawn and die quickly to come back to him. In the end, there's a scene of the re-spawned Hikaruko and Haru meeting each other, Hikaruko now being more confident in herself.
