Shandy

Appears in chapter eleven. Shandy falls in love with Fay, a young girl whom his parents take into their care after Fay's mother (who was Shandy's father's mistress) dies. However, he doesn't realize these feelings and bullies her instead, though he occasionally gives her food and plays with her as well.


Shandy drowned at 15, while trying to retrieve one of Fay's toys from the well his mother had thrown it in. He visits Pamela to find a way to apologize to Fay.
