Kiyoto is a high school student; when he was younger, he met the dog god Shiro and made a promise with him to stay together forever. As a result of his feelings for Shiro, a malicious dog god named Makuro ("pure black") attaches itself to him and feeds on his feelings of frustration and sadness.
