Ai is a university student and member of the stargazing club, where she is regarded as the group's "mom".


Ai is the first to find out that Rune is a mermaid, which makes her act fearful around Rune because of a bad prior experience with mermaids: as a child, Ai almost drowned when she accidentally fell into the ocean and the mermaids who swarmed around her took off once they realized she wasn't a boy.
