Aya is a high school girl with a somewhat aloof and distant attitude, but still popular due to her stunningly good looks and school performances. She's rumored to have been a lot friendlier in middle school, but something happened to make her reluctant to mingle with others.


Aya was attacked by a classmate armed with scissors because she was accused of stealing that girl's boyfriend. Aya used aikido moves to defend herself and no one was hurt. Although she was innocent (the guy was two-timing his girlfriend), her actions intimidated the others and Aya was ostracized.

Due to those circumstances, Aya remained socially awkward, although she's usually able to hide it with her aloof attitude and high intellect.

She reveals herself as a lesbian to Marika after the latter loudly claimed that "love between girls is impossible" and that she was willing to work as a teenage escort to make a quick buck. Aya decides to pay Marika a similar amount to spend time with her each day to convince her that girl's love is acceptable, and adds a wager on top of it, that she'd seduce Marika. She'll put her intellect and charisma to good use to win those challenges.

Her parents are never home, so she mostly lives alone and has more leeway than most girls her age, for instance to work evening shifts in a bar in Shinjuku.


This bar is a lesbian-only place, and Aya has been working there for quite a while, although she's only in second year of high school when the story starts. She had a variety of sexual experiences with people from the bar, including with adults or multiple partners. All in all, Aya had more sex than love in her life so far, which explains why she has a very hard time honestly expressing her feelings for Marika (both her fear for Marika's well-being if she takes a job as an escort, and her love for her).
