An is Rui's older sister. When she was in high school and Rui in kindergarten, she told him that boys don't get "princes in shining armor" (something she apologizes for after finding out that Rui and Yuujirou are dating). She typically dumps her share of the chores on Rui.

An is cautious when it comes to love after both her exes leave her for younger women, and doesn't trust Yuichirou's intentions, who is relentless in pursuing her.

When Rui decides to leave for France to study fashion design, An expresses that she wishes he'd stay home because she'll miss him, but she ultimately supports him in following his dream.
