Yuuta's Mother

About

She is suffering from an unspecified terminal illness and asks her son to record her final months. When Yuuta's father communicates to him that his mother wishes for Yuuta to record her dying moments, Yuuta refuses to enter the hospital. Before the illness got too bad, she worked as a TV producer.


Her husband records her final moments, instead. After he shows that to Yuuta, it is revealed that Yuuta only picked the more flattering clips of her to include in his movie, and the real person was much more critical than had been let on, even calling him "stupid" during filming and "useless" in her dying breath.


Of course, her entire character as seen in the manga, is open to the reader's interpretation, regarding how much of her life is real and how much is part of a movie.
