Minami works at the Metropolitan Police, Special Investigations Unit Six. His "unique constitution" enables him to perceive a victim's lingering feelings and thoughts from a murder scene, which manifests as "stigmata" (physical markers of the murder e.g. wounds) appearing over his body, along with flashbacks of how the murder happened. This power made him the target of his mother's emotional and physical abuse, as he was suspected of faking it for attention. After a case, Minami reveals that he still remembers the thoughts and sensations he perceived, only distinguishing them from his own by whether he's in pain or not.
