Makoto Nishi

Makoto is a lawyer working at the same law firm as Mari, whom she admired a lot. Shortly before Mari's murder, Makoto used to have a bob hairstyle similar to hers, but cut it shorter. She has a poor opinion of Hiroto despite never meeting him, possibly as a result of hearing stories of the dangerous ex-husbands of her clients.


She is suspected of Mari's murder, but the culprit is actually Makoto's ex-husband. After failing the bar exam twice, he began resenting Makoto and abusing her, which led to their divorce. Mari offered to talk him out of stalking Makoto, but was mistaken for Makoto and killed in her stead.
