Yuuko Yamashina

Appears in Shi wo Utau Seiza (Constellation that Sings Death). Yuuko is Orie's niece, who is also her only remaining family. Like Mahiro, she helps out during the summer holidays, though she finds it boring and would rather go off to play. She considers her aunt naive and worries about her.


Yuuko is friends with all the guests at the inn, and invites them there in the hopes of solving the mystery of Ryouko's death. She was the one who overheard Orie and Ryouko arguing shortly before Ryouko fell from the collapsed suspension bridge.


Yuuko is the one behind all the tragic events at the inn, including: hiding a guest's ring and making Ryouko appear to be a thief, cutting the rope on the suspension bridge so that it would collapse more easily, and interfering with Orie's sleeping medicine. She is also interested in Orie's fortune, which the guilty Orie would've left to Ryouko's family.
