Marika is in second year of high school. She loves to be popular and the center of attention, so she cares a lot about her appearence and how people perceive her. As a rule, she lets those priorities dictate a lot of her choices, going as far as considering working in the JK business to gather money or seeing other popular girls as rivals.

Behind it all, she's mostly worried about staying "normal", normalcy being defined as what will make her the most easily accepted by others. After her schoolmate Aya pulls her into the "100-day wager" that gives the story its title, Marika is thrown into a world she knows nothing about, that will first of all challenge her preconceptions.
