Phainon

About

Phainon is one of the Chrysos Heirs, described as "the nameless new king ascends the throne, alongside countless heroes to embark on the grand mission of deliverance" in the prophecy. His weapon of choice is a claymore.

He originated from Aedes Elysiae, a small village on Amphoreus that was, according to him, destroyed by the Flame Reaver. During his time undergoing the Trial of the Strife Coreflame, Phainon was shown memories of this incident, including a "blood-red half-sun hung in the sky" and the people "lying in a sea of flames," as well as the murder of his childhood friend, Cyrene.

In the end, Phainon fails the Trial due to being "blinded by hatred and almost losing himself." Later on, while speaking with Anaxa, he is given a piece of the Flame Reaver's cloak from Anaxa's encounter with him in the Grove of Epiphany, where he confirms it is the same person who destroyed Aedes Elysiae. He vows to defeat him in order to protect Okhema and the Flame-Chase.
