Sasahara, Kazuya

    Sasahara Kazuya was born 1971 in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. He is a CG designer and CG director and current director of Studio Anima. Sasahara attended the Musashino Art University but left before graduating. He became interested in 3DCG after attending a class by Kaneko Mitsuru (金子 満). In 1995 he won a prize in Sony Music Entertainment's Digital Entertainment Program. In 1997 he founded Studio Sasahara (有限会社笹原), which was renamed to Studio Anima in 2002. Aside of creating CG programs, he does also teach CG production to others. He uses the program LightWave and as such influenced its popularity in Japan's CG production. (Source: AniDB)
